I stayed with a group of 15 people here last week. Positives: 1. Budget friendly place 2. Simple and clean rooms. Nothing fancy. There are 3 rooms in the upper part and 3 in the lower area, surrounded by a small garden. The view from the place is decent. Caretaker Mani is very friendly and was helpful and sweet. Negatives: 1. Everything needs to be pre-ordered or booked. Since this place is a remote village they procure stuff from downtowns and needs time. Not a negative but for travellers it needs to be noted. You wont even get a tea/coffee if you didnt tell them before. 2. This property is part of their other shola property which has great views. There is no in-house kitchen here. Everything comes from the other property which is about 1 km away. You have to go there for breakfast or dinner. 3. Like I said, you wont get anything extra or last minute. everything must be pre-ordered. 4. We had arranged for travel (a mini bus) with these people as a package. The driver refused to go the main hotel (shola valley resort) citing 4small streets (which was not true). He also refused to drop some of us first for checkin as there were kids and come back for picking others when we stopped for a waterfall sightseeing. 5. The property also provides support for Jeep rides at extra cost. But they are costlier. they charged us 4500 per jeep for the sight seeing , but regular rates were 4000. 6. The communication or guidance from the owner was not proper. Not going into details but we as a big group had some trouble and lost time and money due to improper guidance and lack of clear comms. 7. the stay wont provide you with towels or toiletries. They gave us 3 dental kits for a 15 member group. But for smaller groups check with them. Even if you have your own car a lot of the sight seeing places are offroad rides which requires a jeep. so take that into account. Overall a decent place. Keep the above points in mind before booking.

I had a good overall experience staying at Honey Drops Homestay in Kanthalloor. Its a budget-friendly option that offers solid value for money. (We got 2 bed room, where 4 can occupy, for 1.5K.) The rooms and surroundings were neat and well-maintained, and the staff were courteous and helpful throughout the stay. The location is a strong advantage easy to access and set in a pleasant area. The climate here felt noticeably cooler and more comfortable compared to Munnar, which made the stay even more enjoyable. There was sufficient parking space available, which is convenient if youre travelling by car. One thing to keep in mind is that the property doesnt offer much privacy, so it may not be ideal if youre specifically looking for a secluded stay. Overall, if youre looking for an economical, clean, and well-located place with supportive staff and decent facilities, Honey Drops Homestay is a worthwhile option.
