Ferndale Homestay, Thekkady The location is good; slightly inside from the main road, yet very close to the main Thekkady junction. The house has an open common balconystyle area where you can sit, relax, gossip, or chill with friends and family. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well maintained, with solar hot water available. There is no kitchen facility and no breakfast provided; only morning tea or coffee is available. The host was friendly, polite, and welcoming, which added to a pleasant stay.

The owner and his wife are generous and welcoming people. They provided towel, water bottle and most importantly proper assistance whenever required. I strongly recommend everyone who are on budget to book service through them. It's better if we call them directly and book as they provide better pricing

We loved our stay here for 2 nights. Our driver Ragesh wariar from the tour agency was extremely uncooperative n hot tempered. He didn't at all help navigate the local places. Our host uncle, Dexter Fernandez, helped us immensely. He told us good bakery shops, restaurants to hv dinner n Lunch, good shops to buy kerala sarees, how to book periyar sanctuary tickets. He even sent me the links ( locations) on WA. He literally spoonfed me like a parent. He arranged an auto fr us to take us to the market fr local shopping. N cared till we returned home safely. The stay was very cosy friendly. Thank you uncle for making our stay so comfortable.

Highlight is the host, Mr Dexter. He mades sure we were at home. Truly a gem of a person... Best stay if you have your own transport. Takes 5-10 mins to reach Thekkady bus stand.
