I recently traveled to Masinagudi with a group of friends and stayed at The Wild Forest Resort for one night over a weekend. We stayed in a twin-bedroom cottage. While the property has its strengths, there are definitely a few aspects you should keep in mind before booking. The Environment & Property: The Vibe: During our visit, the surroundings were very dry. If you are expecting a lush, deep-forest green experience, the scenery here might vary depending on the season you visit. The Resort: It is a very old property. Because of this, it feels a bit dated and lacks the modern infrastructure or variety of activities you might find at newer spots. There weren't many options within the resort for entertainment, so it's best suited if you are just looking for a quiet place to sit back, or if you plan to spend most of your time exploring outside. The Cottage: The twin-bedroom cottage we stayed in was decent, but what really stood out and deserves appreciation was the cleanliness. For an older property in a wilderness area, they maintain the rooms remarkably well, which made our stay comfortable. Dining & Food: The Setup: They have an in-house dining area where we had both dinner and breakfast (our breakfast was included in the room package). The Quality vs. Price: The food served here was of good quality and tasted nice. However, the menu is definitely on the pricier side when compared to what you get. While the taste is there, the overall value for money on the food felt a bit steep. Verdict: A clean, no-frills, old-school property that works fine for a quick one-night weekend stay with friends if your priority is a hygienic place to crash. However, don't expect a lot of in-house activities, and be prepared to spend a little extra on the food.

Pros: Atmosphere: The environment is serene, perfect for sitting calmly and enjoying the mountain views. Food: Both the complimentary breakfast and the paid dinner were superb. Cons: Service: The overall hospitality needs improvement. Room Layout & Value: The Jungle Den only has one shared bathroom between both bedrooms, which doesn't justify the high price point. Kid-Friendly: There are no special activities for children; the vibe is strictly about relaxing and enjoying the view. Overall: Highly recommended for bachelors and couples rather than families.

We had a truly wonderful experience at this Resort. The location is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful natural greenery, making it a perfect escape from the busy city life. We had a wonderful stay at Wild Forest Resort, Masinagudi. Seeing elephants pass through the property, along with deer and wild pigs, was a truly unique experience.
