We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mistletoe Munnar for four nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. Joe and his family were wonderful hosts, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food they prepared with love was simply amazing, adding a special touch to our stay. The boutique homestay is beautifully situated at Iruttukanam, was just a short drive from Munnar. The location offers stunning views of the mist-clad Lakchmi Hills creating a serene and picturesque environment. Breathtaking sunrises and the melodious symphony of birdsong made waking up here an absolute delight. The rooms are well-furnished with private balconies, providing a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The climate in December was perfect, with moderate sunny days and cool evenings, making it an ideal getaway. Joe and his family have thoughtfully designed the homestay to be harmonious with nature and mindful of the environment, which adds to the overall charm and tranquility of the place. Additionally, the property is adorned with thoughtfully curated artwork from talented artists, adding an artistic touch to the ambiance. Joe was also fantastic in accommodating our requests to taste local dishes, which made our culinary experience even more delightful. The picturesque location, with exotic birds like the Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, is a muse for any artist. There are plenty of local attractions and activities to enjoy. Hiking enthusiasts will love the enchanting trails through the hills, which offer breathtaking views, waterfalls, and rivers, creating a memorable adventure. Overall, Mistletoe Munnar is a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty. We highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat. Gorgeous view of the mountains, both from the balcony of your room and the restaurant area. The family who host are lovely and really helpful when organising your activities. We read for hours on the balcony with masala tea, had massages, had a tour of the mountains and went to see elephant crossings. The food was lovely, however the only feedback I’d provide is that some additional variety for lunch would make it even better.

An aesthetically designed place with clean rooms and a lovely cafe. The place is run by a family where the owner brings a wealth of experience that enhances the overall atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the views from the room balconies were beautiful. The art displays added a unique touch, showcasing the care put into creating this lovely place. I was particularly impressed by the warm welcome from the owner's son, Nirmal, during check-in; his professionalism and manners clearly reflect his father's influence. Great job, everyone!

Mistletoe was an absolutely amazing place to relax, unwind, and explore the region during our 4 night stay. The property has stunning views and it was wonderful chatting with Joe and his family about the area and their interests! We found the sustainability efforts an added perk of the stay, with solar power, reverse osmosis water to reduce plastic waste, and a wide array of produce sourced from their own property! We came to Joe and his family's homestay from a busy week in MP and we were able to soak up the beautiful views and birdwatching from the property and our room (even borrowing a pair of binoculars to better ID birds)! Highly recommend a stay to easily see the array of bird species in the area from raptors to songbirds. We found that, opposite to what other reviews have mentioned, the road was not so noisy as to be a negative, and we spent a significant amount of time just relaxing at the property during our stay enjoying the natural views and soundscapes. Joe helped us coordinate visits, some day-of, to local areas of interest and had tips for morning walks in the area. The food was absolutely delicious with great options for breakfast, dinner, and yummy snacks at lunchtime and we were able to brew tea at any time of the day.

Amazing sunset and sunrise mountain views, affordable sweet and savory delicious homecooked meals, comfortable accomodations, lovely shared pantry, dining and outdoor spaces. Mistletoe is a really special place for optimal tranquility, and hospitality. It's family run and super welcoming. The Indian breakfast was delicious every morning! Highly recommend.
