1 Star Unsafe, Misleading Listing and Discriminatory Host Behaviour I had a very disappointing and distressing experience at this property. What was advertised as a private apartment turned out to be a shared space with unknown peoplethis was never disclosed in the listing or during booking. The apartment was unclean, with visible stains on the sofa and bedding, and we saw multiple lizards inside the rooms. There was no caretaker or security, and one evening we returned to find the shutter half-closed, which made us feel unsafe and trapped. In addition, basic amenities like toilet paper and drinking water were being charged, despite the listing stating they were included. The parking area was extremely congested, and our vehicle was damaged due to the tight space. Most shockingly, when we raised these concerns, the host was rude, dismissive, and ended the conversation with a blatantly discriminatory comment, saying: There is no one more entitled than a North Indian. This was deeply offensive and unprofessional. I had to cut my stay short and report this behavior to Airbnb. I sincerely hope Airbnb investigates this listing thoroughly. Until then, I strongly advise against booking this property.

Maple Oak Holiday Home is a safe, nice and simple space for stay. It is situated in Chundale junction itself, near Kalpetta in Wayanad. It is on the top floor of a building with shops in the ground floor, but as we enter inside, the mood is different. They have three apartment-style rooms where each set has two double bedroom with washrooms and a living area. The windows opening to the tea plantation (HML plantation is just beside) is a great view. Almost all the shops and amenities are nearby. It is very close to the Lala Land adventure park. Chundale is kind of center point where you can go to various small and natural destinations and view points. Restaurants are also nearby. Chundale junction is where the Calicut - Vythiri - Gudallur Highway passes through. Mr. Franklin and family is a lovely and excellent host, and they just stay nearby. There will be a caretaker at night as well. The stay was comfortable and looking forward for the next experience. :)

If you are planning for a trip to Wayanad, I would strongly suggest you to take a look at this property. It is also budget friendly with no compromise in quality. We (group of 6 people) stayed there for 2 nights for our trip. The rooms are very clean and well maintained like a new one. Rest rooms are also very good. Hot water is available for shower and that is working good (very much important in that weather). The property's owner Mr.Frank'D cruz was so kind to help us. An assistant is available there in case of any need. But, drinking water is not available there, you have to bring your own. Also this place is easily accessible from Chundale bus stop and it is located just opposite to the Meppadi road cut. The main tourist places are only 20 km in radius from here which is very good thing.

We really had a pleasant stay at Maple Oaks. It was situated on the main road which made us to get food and fruits any time. The house was well maintained by Mr.Frank who is the owner of the property, thank you Frank for making the trip unforgettable.
