My wife and I have stayed at Kannur Beach House many times over the last decade, which is obviously a recommendation in itself. The stars of the show are the hosts – Rosi and Nazir – who make the stay smooth and insightful. They'll help organise trips and basically tell you anything you need to know. The rooms themselves are basic, but comfortable, offering a relaxing view of the lagoon and the sea. All in all, staying here is a unique experience in a unique place.

On my first solo trip I chose the beach destination Kannur and this home stay run by Nasir and Rosie which already had many great reviews on google. I stayed for 3 nights and it was amazing. My purpose was to get away from the daily routine for some alone time and this purpose was served brilliantly. The location itself is jaw dropping, I got here in a Honda jazz and drive right upto the doorstep almost ! The view from the room was amazing and I could hear the sea all night long along with the night creatures. In the morning there were various birds chirping to keep company. Rooms in itself are adequate - they are sparse but have all the standard needs. For the price they charge, it is a hidden gem if you consider the full package of experiences. There is a garden shower too for shaking off all the sand. The beach is magnificent and I had my hearts content of swimming in the safe beach. Ground is very solid upto 20-30 meters into the beach. There are no major crowds and on a few days I had the beach practically to myself. Sunsets from the beach are lovely. To say that, Nasir and Rosie are wonderful hosts, would be an understatement. They have perfected the art of hosting having run this business for 20 years. They serve breakfast and dinner of all the local delicacies which is quite tasty and they are very good at getting to know you and conversing with you if you would like to. I ate all my meals along with them. There are things to do in and around Kannur if you would like to - which the hosts can easily arrange for you, but the mesmerising beach may not let you go ..

We loved our stay at Kannur Beach House. The location was absolutely beautiful. I especially loved my balcony with a view of the beach, where we enjoyed swimming. And the food! Breakfast and lunch every day were amazing. Rosie and Nizir made us feel like old friends. Rosie also helped organize some unforgettable excursions -- including to a traditional weaving factory and a temple ceremony.

This is a really lovely place, with a clean beach and an estuary with birds, lots of lush greenery -- and with wonderful warm, friendly hosts, Rosi and Nazir. They serve abundant breakfasts and dinners (no lunch), delicious Malabar food, different dishes everyday. Guests dine together with the hosts, and conversations with interesting people from several countries are part of the fun. Be prepared for humid weather and few bugs, just to remind you that you aren't in paradise. I've stayed there three times and would go back in a heartbeat.

We had an excellent time at Kannur Beach House. The Beach house is well located, so we could enjoy the beach and a small river just next to the house. The typical southern indian breakfast and diner from our hosts was our highlight!
