My partner and I stayed here over Christmas for 5 nights and it was perfect! We stayed in a big double room with AC and hot water shower, basic but lovely. The view out onto the rice paddys is beautiful and it's so quiet and away from all the hussel of the city. Lots of wildlife, we did lots of birdwatching, and also saw fruit bats and mongoose. The hosts George and his wife Di are absolutely the nicest and most welcoming people we've met in Kerala, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner with them most days and the food was home cooked and amazing, the portion sizes were huge and George waited on us like we were royalty! George was also so helpful is arranging taxis, tuk tuks, ferry's, bicycles and trains for us to explore whilst we were here and to help with our onward journey. We felt spoilt and so at peace over Christmas. Honestly THE BEST PLACE to stay near the backwaters. Thank you so much for your amazing hospitality G & D

A true backwater experience far enough away from the tourist chaos (there will be no tourists around you) but close enough to make your next travel stop a breeze. George and Dai are wonderful, loving and generous hosts. They will take care of you like family and introduce you to the quiet canal neighbourhood you find yourself in. A must-see area near Kottayam if you are interested in seeing real life for much of Keralans. Authentic and peaceful. Thank you George and Dai for taking such wonderful care of mom and me.

George and Di are the kindest people out! We stayed here for 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. George helped us plan a (cheap) boat tour along the backwaters in the local transport. The food was great, mostly sourced from their own garden and Di even showed me how to prepare a meal

I stayed at George's wonderful homestay at the end of January for 3 days and I absolutely loved it ! The area is stunning and far from the crowds. George is a lovely person, he will give you many suggestions for beautiful hikes in the surroundings. Also his food is amazing ! If you visit this area of Kerala don't miss this exceptional place.
