We were promised a hygienic and comfortable stay at Friends Valley Resort, Kattappana, for 1920 August, but what we experienced was shocking and completely unacceptable. Location & Accessibility: The property is in the middle of nowhere, with no proper access. Reaching there itself felt unsafe and inconvenient. Hygiene: The place was extremely unhygienic and stinking. A strong smell of bleach hit us as soon as we entered, but it couldnt cover the filth. Rooms: We were promised decent villas with proper facilities, but what we got was a poorly maintained hut with: Two single cots with substandard, sticky mattresses and a blue sheet. Bathroom doors from the early 2000s made of flimsy PVC, which couldnt be locked at all. Bathrooms that were stinking and in a completely unacceptable state. False Promises: They claimed there were multiple hygienic villas for each family, but on arrival, we were told we could walk down a dangerous, unhygienic path to access other huts. Totally misleading and unsafe. Hosts Attitude: The host, Jorley, was extremely rude, unprofessional, and behaved like a goon. He gave false information and showed zero hospitality. We vacated immediately and booked a hotel in the city, which was of far better quality and hygiene. WARNING: Do NOT book this property. It is misleading, unhygienic, unsafe, and absolutely not customer-friendly. There are much better options in the areaavoid this nightmare!

We recently stayed at Friends Valley Home Stay for two days, and it was an incredible experience! The property is absolutely beautiful, offering a peaceful and cozy environment that made our trip unforgettable. The house is spacious, with three bedrooms downstairs and two more upstairs, making it perfect for families or groups of friends. Theres also a fully equipped kitchen where we could cook our meals, which added a homely touch to our stay. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ensuring we had everything we needed. They even offered to arrange a campfire and barbecue, which was such a fun and memorable experience! What made it even better is that the place is pet-friendly, so its ideal for anyone traveling with furry friends. On the first day, we explored the nearby attractions, including Ayyappan Kovil and Kalvari Mound, both easily accessible by local transport like buses and autos from the Kattappana bus stand, which is close to the property. The scenic beauty of these places was breathtaking! The second day started with a visit to the Nirmala City Viewpoint, which is just a short distance from the stay. We also had the unique opportunity to see cardamom plants in the owners plantation, which was a wonderful experience. Later, we traveled to Panchalimedu, a bit farther away, but the journey and the stunning views there were absolutely worth it! There are plenty of small restaurants nearby offering delicious Kerala food, which was another highlight of our trip. The combination of amazing hospitality, great amenities, and convenient access to beautiful places made this stay truly exceptional. I highly recommend Friends Valley Home Stay to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with friends or family. Its the perfect place to unwind and explore the beauty of the area. We cant wait to visit again!

We stayed here for two days, and it was a really enjoyable experience. It was a serene and tranquil setting. The homestay includes 3 spacious bedrooms that may hold a party of 6 to 8 people. There is a kitchen with a gas supply and all other tools where we may prepare our own food. We had the impression that we were at home. This location has the extra benefit of being close to the grocery store, tea shop, and motel. In general, I would suggest this location to bikers, groups of friends, and families looking for a comfortable and tranquil stay during their holiday.

It's very well maintained property for stay. Neat and clean. Very spacious rooms and nice beds. Hot water is also available.ample Parking facilities on premises. TV is available in common room. Kitchen well stocked and available for use. Price is well below on affordable side. Ok now location is very far from city. Nothing is close by. And you have to climb steep 45deg hill every time if u want to go out. Walking is easy. Riding your motorcycle or bring a four wheeler to this location will be a big task. I stayed here for a day.

I booked this beautiful property on airbnb for a one night stay and it turned out to be a memorable experience. The host Jorley and his friend prakash helped us a lot right from the beginning like giving us the directions to reach their place, suggesting a itinerary for two days , arranged us food, campfire and also they offered to take us to their cardamom plantation and fish pond. They allow to do fishing there and the fish that we catch is charged 100. We can cook that on our own If we want. Their house is a typical Kerala style house which I really like a lot. There is a huge space in the front of the house for parking and inside there are three rooms ( two with attached bathrooms ) , one common bathroom, kitchen with all utensils, washing machine etc. We can cook ourselves if we want or else they can arrange food from outside too . There is beautiful view point near the place and they can give the directions for that. We can view the Idukki dam catchment area from there. The road to this house is a little bumpy and sloppy. The host showed great hospitality. Definitely recommending this place for travelers of all types. Suitable for families too.
